Our Story

As parents, we are always looking for ways to give our children the best experiences.  Choosing where they will spend the majority of their day is a big decision that can directly affect the quality of their foundation.

Our family was first introduced to the Montessori method in Washington state where my husband would spend the last 3 of his 12 years of service in the United States Navy. We instantly fell in love with the environment! Over the next few years, we watched our then three-year-old daughter develop a grace and thoughtfulness that we admired and desired to have for ourselves. We didn't know just how much of a difference Montessori learning had made in our children’s lives until it ceased to be an option. Upon detaching from the Navy, we decided to move back home to be closer to family; Home was Ohio. It turned out to be a great choice because we were blessed with twins in 2018. Family support has made all the difference. Quick fact: Everything is more expensive when you must buy it twice! That includes childcare.

We knew that we would never be able to afford tuition to a Montessori program for either baby or our second born son who was not yet old enough for kindergarten. It was then that we realized that Montessori is more than a school. It is a way of life. We adopted many of the Montessori Principles in our every day workings and eventually, we decided to create the environment that would support those principles. Montessori Life is recognizing the spirit of a child and honoring a child's ability to teach themselves about the world with support and guidance from their environment. Maria Montessori was the founder of this approach to learning. She believed that we as adults should "Never help a child with a task at which he feels he can succeed." The staff at Montessori Life couldn't agree more. We invite you to join us in doing life the Montessori way.
